Global Leadership and the Democratic Classroom 101

One and two hour workshops presented at academic K12 conferences (e.g., Washington State Council for the Social Studies; Washington State Science Teachers Association). Participants learn about GV’s youth and educator programs, and focus on key strategies to increase student engagement and develop leadership skills through best teaching practices and hands-on interdisciplinary tools and curricula.

Global Leadership and the Democratic Classroom 201

Half-, Full-, and Multi-Day workshops (customized upon request) introducing GV’s Global Leadership youth programming and providing in-depth faculty practice with The Democratic Classroom pedagogy and strategies for teams of teachers and all-school staff. Participants earn continuing education clock hours from the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Faculty deepen their professional practice with tools to build student ownership of learning, to develop students’ 21st century skills, and to incorporate pedagogy and global issues content into existing instructional plans, behavioral goals, and academic outcomes.​
